Job Description
Our client are looking for an experienced Azure Integration Developer with SRE mindset to design, develop, deploy, and operate robust integration solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will build and automate integrations using Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, and other services, while configuring and managing Azure API Management (APIM) as the gateway for APIs. A strong emphasis is placed on Azure Service Bus for reliable messaging, decoupling systems, and handling high-volume asynchronous communication. You will apply SRE practices of automation, monitoring, error budgeting, and reliability engineering to reduce toil, ensure high availability, and support scalable, resilient integrations across cloud and on-premises environments.
This hybrid dev/SRE role requires both coding expertise (C#/.NET, Scripting) and operational proficiency in Azure governance, security, and observability. Experience in Financial Services/Asset or Investment management
Responsibilities and Requirements
Integration Development & Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native integration solutions using Azure Integration Services, Azure Functions, Event Grid (event-driven pub/sub).
- Build scalable, reusable APIs and integration patterns (eg, request-response, pub/sub, saga, choreography) to connect applications, partners, and Legacy systems.
- Implement automation for end-to-end processes: error handling, retries, dead-letter queues, notifications, and orchestration across services.
- Configure and operate Azure API Management instances: create/import APIs, define policies (throttling, caching, transformation, authentication, rate limiting, JWT validation), backends, products, subscriptions, and developer portal customization.
- Implement security best practices in APIM: OAuth/OpenID Connect, subscriptions/keys, IP filtering, and integration with Azure AD/Entra ID.
- Use APIM policies to route traffic, send messages directly to Service Bus (via built-in send-service-bus-message policy), aggregate/transform responses, and monitor API usage/analytics.
- Manage APIM life cycle: deployments via ARM/Bicep templates, versioning, and scaling.
- Design and implement messaging architectures with Azure Service Bus (queues, topics/subscriptions, sessions, partitioning, duplicate detection, dead-lettering).
- Handle high-throughput, reliable asynchronous communication: decoupling microservices, order processing, event sourcing, and fan-out patterns.
- Troubleshoot and optimize messaging: monitoring queues/topics, handling poison messages, scaling namespaces, and ensuring low-latency delivery.
- Collaborate with Cloud Solution Architects, Cloud Engineers, Data Ops, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reliable integration solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack; provide on-call support as needed.
