Regulatory Compliance & Investigations Associate / Senior Associate – Birmingham / Hybrid
BCL Legal is working with a leading global law firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate for its Regulatory Compliance & Investigations (Corporate Crime) team in Birmingham. The role focuses on complex, high‑profile economic‑crime matters across a broad range of sectors, offering exposure to both contentious and non‑contentious work.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of complex regulatory, compliance and investigations work, both contentious and non‑contentious
- Advising clients on economic crime, regulatory compliance and enforcement matters
- Supporting internal investigations and crisis‑response strategies
- Working closely with senior stakeholders, including partners and the Head of Corporate Crime
- Keeping up to date with developments in economic‑crime legislation and regulatory law, sharing knowledge across the team
- Playing an active role in business development by writing articles, delivering seminars and building client relationships
- Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners, supporting their development and progression
- Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas to deliver integrated, commercial advice
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitors with 4+ years’ PQE and strong experience in economic crime and/or regulatory investigations
- Solid background in criminal litigation and a good understanding of the criminal justice system and regulatory landscape
- Ability to deliver technically excellent, commercially focused advice
- Confidence working with limited supervision on complex matters
- Strong client‑relationship and business‑development skills
- Enjoyment of mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team growth
- Proactiveness, collaboration and willingness to further develop expertise
