Team/Role Overview

Investor Services is a key business within Citi. The business covers Custody, Funds Services and Execution Services products, providing solutions to a variety of institutional clients of both global and regional importance to the firms’ franchise. This role is pivotal in driving the sales and growth strategy for these critical services. The Global Sales and Solutions Manager will serve as a strategic sales leader and primary relationship owner for assigned institutional clients, driving revenue growth and expanding Citi’s market share within the Investor Services domain. This role is accountable for identifying new business opportunities, developing bespoke solutions, and fostering deep, revenue‑generating client relationships. The Sales Manager will act as a proactive advocate for the client’s strategic growth within Citi, leveraging comprehensive product knowledge to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional value.

What you’ll do

  • Strategic Client Relationship Management & Revenue Growth: cultivate and expand deep, trust‑based relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor on their business needs and aligning Citi’s comprehensive Investor Services solutions to their long‑term growth objectives. Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, cross‑selling, and up‑selling across Citi’s product suite (Custody, Funds Services, Execution Services).
  • Complex Solutioning & Deal Execution: lead complex sales cycles from opportunity identification to close, involving deep product knowledge, solution design, and negotiation. Collaborate with internal Subject Matter Experts to structure bespoke solutions that meet client strategic requirements and drive significant revenue.
  • Client Acquisition & Market Expansion: actively engage in pre‑RFP information requests, client due diligence sessions, and new business pitches to secure new mandates and expand Citi’s client portfolio across the Insurance and Pension segment.
  • Client Performance & Advocacy: serve as the primary internal advocate for client needs, translating client requirements into actionable sales strategies and collaborating with product and operations teams to develop market‑leading solutions.
  • Strategic Product Development Input: leverage profound client and market insights to identify product gaps and emerging client needs, collaborating with Product teams to influence the development of new solutions and enhance existing offerings to meet strategic sales goals.

What we’ll need from you

  • Significant progressive experience in institutional sales, business development, or strategic client relationship management within the financial services industry, with a proven track record of working specifically with insurance and pensions clients and a deep understanding of the Investor Services business.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets, defining target market, driving significant revenue growth, and managing large, complex institutional client portfolios.
  • Extensive knowledge of investment products, market structures, and the competitive landscape within Investor Services, particularly as it relates to insurance and pensions.
  • Demonstrated leadership in originating and closing multi‑faced deals with senior decision‑makers.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, negotiation tactics, and client lifecycle management.
  • Bachelor’s/University degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Strategic Relationship Building: masterful in developing and nurturing long‑term, high‑value client relationships that drive sustained revenue growth.
  • Problem Solving & Solution Design: adept at diagnosing client challenges and collaboratively designing innovative financial solutions.
  • Self‑Motivated & Results‑Driven: highly proactive, autonomous, and focused on achieving and surpassing sales objectives in a fast‑paced, competitive environment.
