Overview

Working as part of the Quality Team, supporting both the Quality Manager and Operations to ensure effective production and consistently high product quality across the facility. This role plays an essential part in maintaining standards, improving processes, and supporting the site’s quality culture.

Responsibilities

Quality Systems & Documentation

  • Update office procedures and product specifications as required.
  • Maintain the customer complaint management system.
  • File and store all QA documentation accurately.
  • Maintain the traceability system.
  • Support maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), including document control and review.
  • Maintain the supplier approval system (specifications, SAQs, tracking key dates).

Audits & Compliance

  • Conduct quality-related audits including systems, GMP, and hygiene audits.
  • Review and verify housekeeping and cleaning activities against third‑party and customer standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and third‑party standards (e.g., BRCGS).
  • Complete Hazard Tags where required.

Non‑Conformance & Quality Control

  • Raise NCRs for internal non‑conforming products.
  • Organise and complete sorting of non‑conforming goods.
  • Maintain the ON HOLD log.
  • Provide guidance on product quality requirements.
  • Complete quality‑related testing (e.g., absorbency, ATP testing).
  • Monitor shift quality performance and maintain the production quality visual board.

Operational Support

  • Respond to customer quality‑related requests.
  • Support delivery of business KPIs within the Quality function.
  • Control and issue new tools and equipment as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote innovation.

Culture & Behaviour

  • Promote and work within a positive food safety and quality culture.
  • Encourage collaboration and continuous improvement across the site.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards within your area meet the highest requirements.
  • Embrace technology to maximise efficiency and drive improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience within a Quality department.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (Safety Rules, Operating Instructions).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to business needs.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proficient in IT systems: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
