Jobs for Humanity is collaborating with Kier to build an inclusive and just employment ecosystem. KierBAM, a joint venture between Kier and BAM Nuttall, is delivering a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard. We are looking for a Senior Cost Manager / Cost Manager to join our team located at this site with remote working available and occasional travel to the office. The position requires 45 hours per week and is based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost forecasts and develop realistic budgets based on project scope.
- Analyse cost data and generate clear financial reports for stakeholders.
- Manage NEC4 contracts, defined costs, and change control processes.
- Identify, analyse, and mitigate cost‑related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers and team members to ensure clarity and alignment on priorities.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of cost management and financial principles, with experience in budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with NEC4 contracts and a solid understanding of construction methods and resources.
- Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, advanced functions (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP), Power Query and dashboard creation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
- BPSS security clearance required (process may take up to 8 weeks). Must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
- Ability to work on a sensitive and prestigious national security site.
