Due to continued expansion and strategic growth, an opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Financial Controller to work closely with senior leadership, providing high-quality financial insight, strengthening reporting frameworks, and supporting performance improvement across the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and influencing strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow reporting, and KPI analysis
- Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary to support leadership decisions
- Manage group reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide clear and actionable financial insight
- Collaborate with operational managers to improve KPI visibility and performance tracking
- Oversee preparation of year-end statutory financial statements
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide commercial analysis on strategic initiatives and business decisions
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations including reconciliations, VAT, expenses, and payables/receivables
- Support alignment between financial reporting and wider strategic planning activity
- Enhance financial systems, controls, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability
- Monitor cost performance against budgets and business objectives
- Support financial integration activities relating to acquisitions and growth initiatives
Requirements
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
- Experience working within a small or scaling finance function
- Background in professional services (desirable)
- Strong financial planning and analysis capability
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems literacy
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities in fast-paced environments
- Confidence using data to support performance management and decision-making
