FP&A Analyst
iQ is one of the UK's largest student accommodation providers, supporting 34,000 students across 85 sites in 29 UK cities.
We are looking for a FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team, reporting to the FP&A Manager. This role sits at the heart of iQ, supporting the delivery of our annual budget and driving performance insight, partnering closely with teams across the business from Operations to Executive Committee.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the annual budget and in‑year forecasting process across the full P&L, coordinating inputs and ensuring assumptions are accurate.
- Maintain and enhance the Anaplan planning model, driving continuous improvement and developing into a finance super‑user.
- Produce monthly management reporting and account packs, providing clear narrative and insight on performance trends, risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver month‑end opex commentary for senior stakeholders, including the CEO and COO.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support decision‑making and investigate key movements.
- Act as a finance partner to Operations, supporting cost control and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non‑finance and executive stakeholders.
- Ensure all financial outputs are accurate, timely and aligned to business priorities.
Skills and Experience
- Newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA).
- Strong experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills, confident building models and analyses.
- Experience using FP&A systems, databases or analytical tools.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, able to tailor messages for senior and non‑finance audiences.
- Proactive, organised and able to prioritise and deliver under pressure.
- Comfortable building effective relationships across Finance and the wider business.
- Ensure all financial outputs are accurate, timely and aligned to business priorities.
We operate a hybrid working model: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home or site location.
