Job Description:

Santander UK plc is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager based in Milton Keynes for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is within the CFO Division’s Technical Accounting team, responsible for all technical accounting matters across Santander businesses in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor developments in IFRS and SEC reporting requirements, including meetings of the International Accounting Standards Board and IFRS Interpretations Committee, and draft comment letters where appropriate.
  • Provide support with the review of technical materials for external bodies.
  • Draft technical disclosures for statutory reports and prepare IFRS and SEC disclosure checklists, taking principal responsibility for accounting policies and guidance.
  • Provide IFRS technical accounting advice and support to the business, including preparation of detailed analyses of technical accounting issues.

Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in the UK public company reporting environment (Required).
  • Hard Skills: Good IFRS technical accounting experience, practical exposure to IFRS in complex statutory accounts and technical interpretations (Preferred). Experience of financial services and/or SEC requirements desirable (Preferred).
  • Soft Skills: Attention to detail (Required). Ability to communicate effectively (Required). Problem‑solving (Required).

Salary and Benefits

£51,942.00 — £77,912.00 per annum (depending on experience). Annual salary is based on a standard 35‑hour working week.
