Clinical Research Nurse

The closing date is 14 May 2026

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Clinical Research Nurse to join Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to work in research. The post holder will join a team of research nurses who are currently supporting the delivery of commercial and non‑commercial National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio research studies across a wide range of specialties. The role will involve identifying, recruiting and supporting patients through the research process as well as providing support to study teams and clinicians carrying out research. In addition, the post holder will actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS.

The Trust delivers high quality clinical trials in partnership with the NIHR Regional Research Network and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust continues to develop and expand its capacity and capability in undertaking clinical research within its NIHR Lancashire Clinical Research Facility. As a research nurse, you will work in a busy environment and support research activity across the Trust, ensuring all studies are undertaken to the highest standards within timelines and meeting recruitment targets.

This part‑time (12 months) role is based within the Research and Development Department at Lantern Centre, Preston. The post holder will work as an ‘agile’ worker and therefore may be expected to work from different sites across the Trust on a regular basis.
