Senior Mental Health Nurse – HMP Highpoint (Category C Prison, Stradishall, Suffolk)
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients’ mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with the multi‑disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload of patients and developing holistic health care plans that address physical, social and psychological needs.
- Contribute to the nursing strategy and vision by providing evidence‑based care, actively seeking and acting on patient feedback to ensure care is personalised.
- Deliver non‑judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries.
- Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in accordance with policies and procedures, always considering safeguarding.
Working Hours
- Monday – Sunday service, 37.5 hours per week.
- Core shift: 08:00 – 17:00.
- Weekends on a rota basis; 4‑week rolling rota.
- Open to discussion of lower hours.
Salary and Benefits
Annual salary: £43,609 – £49,175, depending on experience.

Candidate Requirements
- Occupational Therapist or Social Worker – HCPC / NMC Registered.
- Experience working within mental health settings, with knowledge and understanding of the patient group.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Experience of collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
