If you are looking for a new opportunity to grow and develop in a supportive mental health team, we have an opportunity to join the BaNES community CAMHS team as a full time Mental Health Practitioner.

We welcome applications from RMNs, OTs and Social Workers.

In BSW we have a commitment to staff development and progression. Our training programme includes multiple internal trainings relevant to CAMHS and links with external trainings funded through HEE. Managers work closely with all staff to ensure they have the right training to enable them to confidently and competently deliver high standard interventions.

This is an opportunity to build confidence, skills, knowledge in this area of CAMHS. The team is a well established team who are keen to support and develop successful candidates. Both roles are supported with regular clinical, managerial and safeguarding supervision. The Band 5 role will be supported with clear goals and actions in order for a successful candidate to professional develop and progress to Band 6 when there is an opportunity.

Main duties of the job

• Working within an MDT to ensure children, young people and families receive timely access to the right help they need according to their mental health and wellbeing needs.
• Work collaboratively with parents/families/carers to promote the emotional and physical wellbeing of the child/young person.
• Assessing risk in collaboration with children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, significant others, and other workers/professionals, alongside use of own professional judgment and team processes
• Skilled and constructive use of own supervision sessions, engagement in reflective practice, commitment to continuously develop self-awareness and work appropriately within professional boundaries.
• Participate in clinical meetings and case discussions when deemed appropriate and within the scope of the SPA.
• To work closely and build relationships with a range of agencies across health, education and social care (including the voluntary and community sector) as well as across teams within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust as appropriate.

Person Specification

Qualifications - Academic/Skills/Professional

• Mental Health or equivalent professional health qualificatione.g. OT, RMN NURSE, SOCIAL WORKER
• Current registration with relevant professional body - NMC, HCPC

Knowledge

• Understanding of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs.
• Knowledge of mental health and community care legislation and policy

Experience

• Experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs.
• Experience of and commitment to working in a multi-agency setting working in partnership with a range of health, social care and education professionals.
