Endoscopy Technician

We are recruiting an Endoscopy Technician to support the Endoscopy unit as part of an expanding service with new theatre space. The role involves patient admissions and discharges, and assistance to Endoscopists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The position offers a 6‑12 month training package, including the completion of a care certificate, and will be supported by a mentor.

Main duties of the job

  • Admission of patients
  • Assisting within the procedure room and monitoring patient airways
  • Maintaining accurate patient records

Person Specification

Experience and knowledge

  • Previous experience working and communicating with the public in a health/social care setting
  • Endoscopy experience/knowledge of endoscopic procedures
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team in health/social care or education

Education, Qualifications and Training

  • Level 3 vocational qualification in a health/social care related subject, or willingness to undertake the Level 3 Diploma (QCF) appropriate to the clinical area, as provided by the Organisation or previous Endoscopy experience and competencies
