Role Summary

Field Service Professional – responsible for fault finding at customer premises or assisting in equipment installations, delivering first‑class service and support.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised qualifications in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
  • Heavy engineering background ideally within print or packaging
  • Full driving licence

Job Purpose

To deliver a first class level of service and support to customers, ensuring excellent communication.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide service, repairs, installations and maintenance on equipment within SLA agreements and as directed by the line manager.
  • Carry out service calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Follow up and resolve technical and parts issues to completion.
  • Keep customer and line manager updated and informed.
  • Attend all training courses and service meetings as requested.
  • Provide customer telephone engineering support.
  • Use relevant software (e.g., Windows OS, driver and software installation) to complete documentation and paperwork on time.
  • Develop in‑depth knowledge of equipment supplied by the company.
  • Provide demonstrations on equipment as required.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory, cost awareness and process warranty claims.
  • Ensure service and maintenance calls are carried out and records retained.
  • Work independently for fault finding and as part of a team for installations.
  • Maintain company property (vehicle, tools, laptop, phone).
  • Observe Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote company products and provide feedback to the service and sales departments.
  • Represent the company positively to customers and colleagues.

Key Role Requirements

  • Electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • IT skills – Windows OS, driver and software installation, Microsoft Office.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Team player, able to complete individual tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
