We are looking for a mechanical maintenance engineer who values hands‑on work and wants a stable, long‑term role in Wakefield.

Must‑Haves

• Strong mechanical maintenance background
• Experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment
• Confident fault‑finding on mechanical systems
• Experience on drive systems, rollers, belts, and rotating equipment
• Proactive, hands‑on approach

Hours

Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00; Friday: 07:00 – 13:00

The Opportunity

This isn’t your typical maintenance role. You will be working in a practical, hands‑on environment maintaining and repairing a wide range of machinery and equipment, from older to modern. The role requires a strong mechanical mindset rather than just swapping parts.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical equipment
• Fault‑finding on gearboxes, bearings, shafts, belts, and drive systems
• Working on rollers, rotating equipment, and material handling systems
• Carrying out component repairs and rebuilds
• Supporting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Completing PPMs and responding to breakdowns
• Supporting improvement work across the site

What We’re Looking For

• A hands‑on engineer who enjoys practical mechanical work
• Someone comfortable working on a variety of machinery (not just automated lines)
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
• A reliable team player who can also work independently
• Apprentice trained or time‑served (preferred)
