Overview
We are seeking a number of Assembly Technicians to join a fast‑growing engineering and manufacturing customer of ours in Surrey. Initially on a 2‑month fixed‑term contract, this is a hands‑on role supporting the build and assembly of the company’s pioneering, clean‑technology product.
Main Duties
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components in line with detailed engineering instructions.
- Support production builds and assist with kitting parts for assembly.
- Maintain high quality standards, ensuring component traceability and minimal rework.
- Diagnose and resolve assembly issues to keep production on schedule.
- Accurately record assembly processes, including any deviations or modifications.
- Follow health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
Technical Prerequisites
- Background in mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
- Ideally experience within automotive (or similar sectors such as aerospace, motorsport, or commercial vehicles) – not essential.
- Alternatively, a vehicle technician background would be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (2D/3D) and assembly instructions.
- Strong hands‑on skills with good fault‑finding and diagnostic ability.
- Awareness of health & safety and use of PPE.
- Desirable:
- Electrical harnessing experience (LV/HV).
- Experience within a production or prototype assembly environment.
- Forklift licence.
Hours / Package
Location: Surrey (near M25)
Salary: £32,000 (pro rata)
Contract: Initially fixed‑term (2 months)
