Overview

Drainage Engineer – Metro Rod Isle of Wight

Location: Isle of Wight

Salary: £15-£20 per hour DOE plus overtime, on-call & benefits

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who thrives in both reactive drainage work and planned small civils projects. If you enjoy problem-solving on-site and want to be part of a supportive, fast-paced business, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Responding to reactive drainage issues (blockages, backups, faults)
  • High-pressure water jetting and drain clearance – internal & external
  • CCTV surveys and fault diagnosis
  • Minor dig-ups & repairs carrying out small excavations and small civils works
  • No-dig localised liner installation and inversion liners
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
  • Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and applications
  • Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in reactive drainage and civils/drainage repairs
  • Strong knowledge of drainage systems and fault finding
  • Experience with excavation and reinstatement works
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Streetworks (NRSWA) and/or medium risk confined space (desirable)
