This is a continuously open engineering requirement within a busy food manufacturing environment, where there is ongoing demand for both multi-skilled and electrically biased engineers.
Recruitment is active on an ongoing basis, and suitable candidates are progressed quickly due to operational need.
What you'll be doing
- Responding to breakdowns and restoring equipment safely and efficiently
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
- Supporting continuous production and minimising downtime
- Working as part of a shift engineering team on a 5 on / 5 off pattern
- Recording maintenance activity accurately using site systems
- Supporting reliability and continuous improvement activity
- Maintaining strong health and safety compliance across all work
What we're looking for
- Multi-skilled or electrically biased engineering background
- Experience in food manufacturing or fast-paced production environments
- Strong fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems
- Good understanding of industrial maintenance equipment and processes
- Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance work
- Comfortable working a 5 on / 5 off shift pattern including nights
- Strong awareness of health and safety standards
- Able to work effectively within a shift team environment
- Practical, hands‑on approach to problem solving
The reality of the role
This is a busy, high-demand production environment where engineering coverage is critical. Engineers are expected to respond quickly to issues, stabilise equipment and maintain production continuity. It suits individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-moving shift-based environment where priorities can change quickly.
If you prefer slow-paced or predictable maintenance work, this is unlikely to be a fit. If you want a role where your skills are genuinely needed and used every shift, it is.
