Description

Soben is an award‑winning construction consultancy with bold ambitions and a clear trajectory for growth. Since launching in 2011, we’ve built a reputation for technical excellence, client focus, and delivery certainty. In March 2025, Soben became part of Accenture’s Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice, within its Industry X division, and this strategic acquisition unlocks a wealth of opportunity for our team.

  • Access to world‑class resources and technology, enhancing how we deliver capital projects
  • Involvement in high‑profile programmes across sectors such as data centres, energy, and pharmaceuticals
  • Career development at scale, with exposure to international clients and cutting‑edge project environments
  • A platform for innovation, as we continue to challenge traditional consultancy models and lead digital transformation

In this role you will

  • Act as the client‑facing Project Manager for your commission, maintaining regular contact and leading formal pre‑start and mid‑term review meetings.
  • Understand client requirements and desired outputs and communicate these effectively to internal teams.
  • Lead internal pre‑start briefings, set achievable targets, and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Hold daily progress meetings with billing teams, resolving technical issues and ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Manage technical queries (TQs), liaise with clients for responses, and apply reasonable assumptions when needed to maintain programme momentum.
  • Conduct detailed QA reviews and gap analyses of BQs and pricing documents to ensure compliance with scope and Soben standards.
  • Ensure full execution of Soben systems and QA procedures by billing teams.
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of prepared documents and lead the handover process, acting as the point of contact for post‑submission queries.
  • Build strong working relationships with client estimators to support repeat business.
  • Achieve high level security clearance to allow participation in classified or restricted projects, enter restricted areas to carry out measurement, verification, and commercial review without delay.
  • Be willing to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe to support client engagement.
  • Champion continuous improvement in service delivery and support UK Directors in business matters as required.
  • Provide effective coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Uphold and promote Soben’s core values in all aspects of work.

About you

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) standard in Quantity Surveying, a minimum of ten years’ post‑qualification experience, ideally including exposure to complex projects.
  • Management or team leadership experience is highly desirable, particularly where you’ve overseen technical delivery, coordinated multi‑disciplinary teams, or acted as a client interface.
  • Your communication and negotiation skills will be first‑rate—capable of building trust with clients, resolving technical queries, and guiding internal teams with clarity and confidence.
  • You’ll combine a pragmatic, common‑sense approach with the flexibility to adapt to changing project demands, tight deadlines, and evolving client expectations.
  • A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement will be key to your success in this role.

Benefits and opportunities

  • Ongoing training and personal development to help you flourish, building a long‑term and successful career with us.
  • Opportunities to progress quickly and be trusted with responsibilities that would normally belong to larger organisations.
  • Work on some of the industry’s most exciting projects.
  • Inclusion at the heart of our culture, ensuring a diverse and supportive working environment.
  • Joint positioning with Accenture provides global reach and advanced technology, enhancing project delivery.
  • Drive innovation at scale, disrupting traditional consultancy models and setting new standards for performance.
  • Offer our people unparalleled career development opportunities in a fast‑evolving, international environment.
