Job Description:

Our client, a leading entity in the automotive industry, is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a permanent opportunity where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing quality standards across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Quality Manager and deputise in their absence, including hosting third‑party and customer audits and reviews.
  • Assist in maintaining the company Quality Management System and ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
  • Complete internal audits and special process workstation assessments as per schedule and promptly produce the reports.
  • Follow up with internal departments regarding Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) raised from external and internal sources.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and appraisals, if applicable.
  • Draft Quality Plans and Methods Statements as required.
  • Control the release of technical documents to production.
  • Complete internal, external, and customer First Article Inspections (FAIs) for projects as needed.
  • Maintain the calibration system and manage the external calibration service provider.
  • Support the mechanical inspector regarding inspection at the goods inwards department.
  • Conduct process and quality training for induction and special processes.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Education: degree or HNC level. Engineering or technical background, knowledge of engineering standards.
  • Experience with quality systems in a safety‑critical engineering environment.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Desired experience with special processes.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance techniques and ability to make recommendations to management.
  • Fully conversant with measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
  • Focused on mentoring and developing others to foster a quality culture within the company.
