Proficient In

  • Design of control and protection schemes for HV and EHV substations production of main connections and protection drawings
  • Calculation of protection settings
  • Cable calculations up to 132 kV
  • Substation design experience at 11 kV, 33 kV or 66 kV or 132 kV
  • Design experience of up to 400 kV would be ideal but not a prerequisite
  • Understanding the electrical aspects of power supplies, substations or
  • Cabling/overhead line projects from LV up to and including 132 kV
  • Power systems studies, such as load flow and short circuit studies

Ideally aware of

  • Electricity Network Regulations / National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) requirements
  • DNO and IDNO design standards and approval processes
  • ENA Engineering Recommendations
  • Grid code for protection settings
  • Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry
  • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Information Security requirements
