Construction Supervisor
Location: Situated between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £39,280 up to £58,920 plus allowances, depending on suitability, qualifications, and level of experience.
Working schedule: 9‑day working fortnight, providing every other Friday off. You will have 270 hours of annual leave, 26 non‑working Fridays, and an extra day off on Christmas Eve. Flexible working arrangements are considered.
Due to the classified nature of the work, opportunities to work from home are limited; the candidate will spend the majority of time on site at AWE Aldermaston.
Responsibilities
- Support the Construction Manager in planning and delivering construction projects.
- Ensure installation works by contractors meet specified quality standards through inspection and verification.
- Maintain a daily site diary detailing conditions, progress, and resources available.
- Contribute to weekly reports covering site safety inspections, quality control, inspection and test plans, and defect notices.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing pre‑construction information such as SSOW/RAMS.
- Work calmly and constructively in a changing priority environment, manage own workload, and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Significant technical and site experience in construction/build environments with a proven supervisory track record.
- Industry‑standard construction/build qualification aligned to discipline or specialism.
- Preferably hold a Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or NEBOSH Construction accreditation, or an equivalent.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution (desirable).
- Good understanding of current health, safety and environmental legislation, including 2015 Construction Design Management Regulations.
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
