This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience of all aspects of grid engineering as it is applied to zero carbon energy projects from inception to energisation.

To ensure your continuous improvement, you will be based in one of our offices on a hybrid basis with one of existing Grid team members, the role can be based in one of the following offices: Gateshead, Kings Langley, Glasgow or Larne.

The position

The electricity grid systems in UK and Ireland are increasingly critical factors in the successful development and operation of all of our projects. As we move increasingly toward the Net Zero whole energy system, so the significance of the grid increases further still.

The Graduate Grid Engineer provides crucial support on grid matters relating to various projects;

Reporting to a Project Manager but supported by the Energy Networks Team, the Graduate Grid Engineer will provide support to UK&I colleagues on grid engineering, commercial, regulatory and charging matters. At RES, we have a leading onboarding and training plan. Our training plan gives necessary skills, knowledge and competency to for an graduate to be on the path to achieve IET Chartered status. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to learn, with guidance and support from Grid Engineers as part of a personal development plan, in all of these areas in order to develop into a Grid Engineer within one of the project delivery teams.
