The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging, challenging lessons in line with the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Geography curriculum.
- Using a range of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners and support progress and attainment.
- Regularly monitoring and assessing pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions where required.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues within the Geography department and across the wider school to enhance curriculum delivery and teaching practice.
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a culture of high expectations.
- Supporting the wider school ethos, including pupil wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Geography at secondary level.
- Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Geography.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Be committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Take a proactive approach to professional development and collaborative working.
- Have a strong understanding of assessment strategies and use data effectively to support pupil progress.
