Job Description

Location: Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2BX

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term Contract or Secondment opportunity for 12 months as Maternity Leave cover

Salary: £37,280 - £44,075 per annum (pro rata for part time)

The role is open to full time, part time, and job share applications, all of which will be assessed equally.

About The Role

We are looking for a Communities Officer to join the Communities Team, encouraging and supporting residents to take an active part in developing safe, vibrant and healthy places.

• Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver successful wellbeing initiatives, grants, and improve performance and monitor outcomes.
• Developing and supporting a programme of activities which provides confidence and guidance to our communities in relation to planning for growth, communities, grants and wellbeing agendas.
• Co‑ordinate and deliver effective engagement activities vital to the development of communities in line with the Council’s Communities and Wellbeing Strategies.
• Building strong relationships to understand and gather information on local issues, expectations, and need.

About You

You will demonstrate a confident, adaptable approach, with excellent communication skills. We are seeking someone with a strong track record and experience of community engagement and working within a political environment.
