Deputy Manager – Residential Children's Home

Location: Purley
Salary: 40,000 – 45,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time

Our client is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established four‑bedded residential children’s home dedicated to providing high‑quality, therapeutic care for young people aged 11-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

About the Role

Working closely with the Registered Manager and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping the home’s culture and operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day‑to‑day management of the home, ensuring high‑quality care and regulatory compliance.
  • Leading, supervising, and developing a dedicated staff team.
  • Promoting a positive and nurturing environment for young people, helping them build life skills and resilience.
  • Implementing safeguarding procedures and maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Team Leader in a children’s home.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and children’s residential care legislation.
  • Experience working with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.
  • Passion, resilience, and a strong desire to make a difference in young people’s lives.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including some evenings and weekends.
