Learner Engagement/Recruitment Officer

Salary: £30,000 £35,000

Location: East Midlands (Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham)

Role

As a Learner Engagement Officer, you will focus on attracting, engaging, and supporting learners from initial contact through to enrolment.

This is a hands‑on, outreach-driven role where building relationships and engaging individuals is key to success.

Key responsibilities

• Promote adult education and employability programmes within local communities
• Recruit learners onto AEB-funded courses
• Conduct initial engagement, assessments, and eligibility checks
• Support learners through the enrolment process
• Build relationships with job centres and referral partners
• Attend community events and outreach activities
• Maintain accurate records of learner engagement and recruitment activity

Ideal Candidate

You are a proactive and people-focused individual who enjoys engaging with others and making a difference.

You will bring

• Experience in learner engagement, recruitment, or customer-facing roles
• Exposure to training providers, adult education, or employability programmes (desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Organised and self‑motivated approach to outreach work
• Ability to work independently across different locations
