Department: Operations
Location: Bristol, UK
Description
We’re building the UK's next generation engineering powerhouse, providing critical technology that strengthens national security and resilience.
We specialise in turning advances in sensing, AI, and communications into operational capability for the edge, where connectivity may be degraded or denied. Our work focuses on accelerating the deployment of technology, improving decision‑making for frontline teams, and protecting people and critical assets in demanding environments.
Headquartered in Bristol, Rowden employs around 160 people and operates over 20,000 square feet of engineering and manufacturing facilities. We have a growing international footprint and are one of Europe’s fastest‑growing engineering businesses.
Due to increased demand, we’re building a pipeline for proactive and driven Business Operations & Strategy professionals who are interested in joining our growing Operations team.
In this role, you’ll take on high‑impact, cross‑cutting initiatives that don’t come with a clear playbook. Every project will look different, from building new capabilities to scaling operations. You’ll work collaboratively across the business to collate data points, develop a plan and execute. You won’t always have perfect information, but you’ll be trusted to make decisions and lead.
You’ll work alongside a team of talented, mission‑focused individuals that share strong values and a focus on users. If you're passionate about pushing boundaries, thinking differently, and working through complex problems to deliver results, we want to hear from you.
You can register your interest by applying to this advert, and when a suitable vacancy opens, we’ll get in contact with you.
Key Responsibilities
- Own strategically important projects that will help us build an engineering powerhouse.
- Work across engineering, product, commercial, and delivery teams to collate insights and collaboratively develop the best solutions.
- Bring curiosity, resourcefulness and drive to undefined problems, helping teams find clarity and make fast progress.
- Build clear, actionable, and data‑driven plans that you can then execute with pace.
- Design repeatable systems and processes that help us scale with discipline, without losing agility.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in high‑growth, fast paced environments such as scale‑ups or tech/engineering‑led businesses.
- A track record of solving hands‑on, complex problems and delivering measurable results.
- Strong analytical skills, including modelling scenarios, interpreting data, and building quantitative frameworks to support decision‑making.
- Comfort in technical environments built through engineering experience, education, or working closely with product and engineering teams.
- Skilled at building credibility and communicating effectively across diverse stakeholder groups, from engineers to external partners.
- Proactive and self‑directed – able to define problems, make decisions with imperfect information, and drive work autonomously.
- Interest in national security, defence, or technology for mission‑critical environments.
