Manchester United are seeking a Senior Football Data Analyst to join their Data & AI Team, supporting the club’s transition towards a fully data-driven football operation.
Working closely with coaches and analysts across the Men’s First Team, Women’s First Team, and Academy, the successful candidate will deliver performance insights, match analysis, executive reporting, and data-driven recommendations across the football department.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce pre- and post-match analysis reports
- Deliver opponent profiling and performance reviews
- Support matchday analysis workflows across all football programmes
- Interpret raw football event data to generate actionable insights
- Collaborate with coaches and video analysts on tactical and performance trends
- Deliver executive-level reporting to senior football leadership
Key Requirements
- Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience
- Experience in football analytics or elite sport performance
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Ability to work independently with raw event data
- Excellent communication and data visualisation skills
- Strong understanding of football tactics and performance metrics
