Quantity Surveyor – Devonport Dockyard (Plymouth)
Rate: Up to £430 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a major redevelopment project within Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high‑profile, secure MOD site within a dynamic commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial and contractual support to ensure project performance targets are met
- Manage cost reporting, forecasting, and budget monitoring
- Measure works and agree valuations with clients and subcontractors
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and account management
- Ensure effective cash flow and timely payments
- Administer contract changes and manage commercial risks
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role (construction/infrastructure preferred)
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in a commercial/quantity surveying discipline
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience with CEMAR and Coins/Causeway systems
- Professional accreditation (e.g. RICS, ICE)
Security Clearance
Due to site requirements, BPSS clearance is required (can take up to 8 weeks). Applicants must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years and hold a NATO/MISWG country passport.
