Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00
Our client is a well-established, family-run logistics business with a long-standing reputation in freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution. They are seeking a passionate and driven Freight Forwarder to join their growing team. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations across import and export shipments
- Liaise with carriers, overseas agents, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth and timely movement of goods
- Prepare, check, and process all required shipping and customs documentation accurately
- Monitor shipment progress and provide regular updates to customers and stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or delays as they arise
- Ensure full compliance with relevant transport, customs, and trade regulations
- Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records across all shipments, including tracking, billing, and documentation
- Deliver a high standard of customer service, responding promptly to queries and requests
- Experience across both import and export freight operations
Qualifications / Skills
- Freight forwarding experience minimum 2 years’ experience
- Someone who can take ownership and see the job through from start to finish
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to problem-solve quickly and make effective decisions under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and committed to achieving results
