Regulatory Compliance Manager

I am working on a Compliance Manager opportunity within a growing organisation operating in the financial services and payments space.

This role sits within the risk function and is focused on delivering effective compliance monitoring and assurance across the business. It’s a hands-on position where you will take ownership of building and developing monitoring frameworks, rather than relying on pre-existing structures.

I am looking for someone who enjoys structured compliance work and can take a proactive approach to assessing controls, identifying risks, and supporting regulatory readiness.

The role will involve:

• Delivering compliance monitoring and assurance activities
• Conducting thematic and control reviews across different business areas
• Assessing governance and control effectiveness
• Tracking regulatory obligations and compliance issues
• Supporting the business with regulatory change and implementation
• Producing reporting and working closely with stakeholders across functions

This position also includes an element of advisory work, providing guidance and challenge to the business, although the primary focus is on monitoring and assurance.

I am particularly interested in candidates who:

• Have experience within a regulated financial services environment (FCA preferred)
• Bring strong compliance monitoring or assurance experience
• Have a broad understanding of regulatory requirements rather than a narrow specialism
• Are comfortable building processes and frameworks from the ground up
• Can communicate effectively and engage with stakeholders across the business

Experience within payments or open banking would be beneficial, but not essential.

This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to step into a role with real ownership and the ability to shape how compliance is delivered within a developing environment.
