Deputy Department Manager / Clinical Sister

Responsibilities

Support the current management team in the running and development of the Fracture Clinic services. Use UHCWi methodology to identify areas for improvement, enhancing the patient journey and maintaining staff wellbeing. Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff through health and safety/risk assessments, effective roster management, and audits. Work with wider teams on sickness absence, resource utilisation, finance, and provide a learning environment for students and learners.

• Accountable for own actions in accordance with governing bodies such as the British Orthopaedic Association and Nursing and Midwifery Council (Code of Professional Conduct). Contribute to corporate objectives while acting within local, Trust, and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
• Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients, carers and the multi‑professional team.
• Provide leadership as a skilled practitioner: support the management team, participate in service and policy development, deputise in the absence of the clinic manager, and manage the team during their absence.

Requirements

Currently hold or be willing to complete the British Orthopaedic Association British Casting Certificate.

Successful applicants must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or GP.
