Location: Winchester, VA
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 plus an exceptionally lucrative bonus plan.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Lead large-capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects ranging from $2MM to $10MM+ from concept development through commissioning and operational handover.
- Manage project stage-gate processes, including business case development, NPV analysis, risk assessment, and change control.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities (process, automation/controls, utilities, facilities, and construction trades).
- Develop and execute procurement strategies, including contractor prequalification, bid evaluations, and vendor selection.
- Oversee construction management activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
- Develop and execute commissioning, qualification, and start-up plans to ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, environmental, and safety standards throughout project execution.
- Manage project closeout activities, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, training, spare parts, and formal handover to Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Provide regular project status reporting to corporate and site leadership, including schedule, cost, risk, and mitigation plans.
- Travel as required to support project execution and site coordination.
- Mentor and develop others in project management best practices and standards.
- Promote personal and company image throughout the community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- 10+ years of experience managing capital projects within food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors, vendors, and construction activities.
- Strong working knowledge of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Experience researching potential expansions and industries.
- Experience opening new product lines and equipment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent construction safety training.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
