Are you a confident communicator who thrives on problem‑solving, building rapport, and making a real difference to residents’ lives? If so, we have created two exciting opportunities to join a close‑knit compliance team working to ensure the safety of the council’s housing stock.
The team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards, with a particular focus on the safety and well‑being of our residents. We have made significant improvements in this area recently, but there is always room for improvement. We have identified a small group of properties that, for a variety of reasons, have been difficult to access, and we need you to help us.
This is a vital role ensuring that essential health and safety checks, particularly for electrical safety checks and annual gas servicing, are carried out in our tenanted homes. You will identify all properties where access has not been gained, contact those residents by a variety of means, and ensure access is given.
You will need great interpersonal skills, an ability to work on your own initiative, and be comfortable in obtaining and analysing data.
The role will require home visits and some out of hours working. Collaboration with other teams and agencies will be necessary.
Richmond & Wandsworth Better Service Partnership are committed to making our recruitment practices as inclusive as possible for everyone. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity and developing a culture that values differences, recognising that employees from a variety of backgrounds bring important and positive contributions to the Council and can improve the way we deliver services.
We are proud to be a Disability Confident employer. If you require reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment and selection process, please let us know.
We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Some posts may be exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to these posts will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
We offer a wide range of benefits designed to attract, develop, and reward our employees such as 40 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays), flexible working, and a generous pension plan.
