The team holds a leading position in various subsectors including Capital Goods, Aerospace & Defence, Business & Support Services, Automotive, Building Products, Chemicals, Infrastructure, and Transport & Logistics. We provide advice to a diverse client base of both UK&I listed and private/sponsor‑owned assets on M&A, equity and debt issuance, capital structure, and corporate strategy.
As a UK&I Diversified Industries Associate you will engage directly with C‑suite management and Boards, collaborate with colleagues across M&A, ECM, DCM, and other product teams, advise existing clients, market to new prospects, and execute transactions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions
- Interact with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
- Define, guide and review detailed valuation analysis, including DCFs and LBOs, trading comparables and transaction comparables
- Define, guide and review detailed combination and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions
- Maintain regular dialogue with clients and potential clients
- Structure and execute transactions (M&A / equity capital markets / debt capital markets)
- Liaise with J.P. Morgan product teams and global sector teams
- Liaise with UK equities and research departments
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- 3–5 years of traditional Investment Banking experience at a highly‑regarded institution (integrated bank or independent financial adviser)
- Experience covering UK&I Diversified Industries is a plus but not required
- Undergraduate degree from a top‑tier university
- Highly proficient financial modelling / valuation / analytical / numeracy skills
- Ability to deal well with pressure while multitasking on numerous projects
- Ability to interact with clients in a professional and mature manner
- High level of attention to detail, proactivity, organisational acumen and time management skill
- Comfort in and commitment to an inclusive team environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to convey concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity

The role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
