Gas Safety Engineer

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing – Rochdale, Greater Manchester, OL11

£38,248 per annum – Permanent, Full-time, 36.25 hours per week with callout and standby duties (on‑call rota: 1 day in 10).

We are looking for a Domestic Gas Safety Engineer to join our Gas Safety Team covering Middleton, Heywood and Rochdale. The role involves servicing, installing, fault‑finding and rectifying domestic gas and heating systems in both occupied and empty properties, public buildings and communal areas. You will deliver a quality installation and maintenance service within set timescales, demonstrating customer care, high standards of quality, efficiency and compliance with all relevant standards and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, install and repair domestic gas and heating systems.
  • Carry out fault finding and rectification in occupied, empty, public and communal properties.
  • Ensure compliance with national standards, legislation and internal procedures.
  • Maintain accurate work logs and report any issues to the Gas Safety Manager.
  • Participate in call‑out and standby rota as required.

Requirements

  • Hold ACS Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, MET1.
  • Recognised training or experience in domestic gas, heating systems and controls.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Part P electrical and unvented hot water qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Strong awareness of social issues that may impact our customers.
