Technical Sales Engineer (Witney)
We have an extraordinary opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer with a leading specialist manufacturer in Witney. The company has been operating globally for 100 years, blending a global footprint with a local family feel. As the Technical Sales Engineer, you will develop and grow sales of our full range of products across the UK & Ireland, maximise current repeat customers, increase market coverage, and grow the number of active customers. You will collaborate with the Business Development Team and Technical Sales Specialist to ensure an aligned approach for effective market coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively develop new prospects and leads to maintain a strong order pipeline for all company products.
- Focus primarily on end‑user customers while the BD team focuses on OEM machinery manufacturers and House Accounts, with openness to collaborate when needed.
- Develop a regional plan for effective call planning across customer tiers:
- multi‑national key accounts
- national accounts
- smaller transactional end users
- Conduct effective telephone, email and LinkedIn prospecting and proactively follow up on new sales leads and marketing campaigns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Cover the UK and Ireland combined territory.
- Willingness to travel regularly, including frequent stays away from home, primarily within the UK and Ireland.
- Based at the UK head office in Witney, Oxfordshire 1‑2 days per week after initial training period.
- Proven business‑to‑business technical sales ability with good commercial understanding, ideally within a related industry, with a technical background and/or aptitude.
- Able to engage and adopt both consultative and transaction selling styles.
