About the role
As the Lead Engineer of Production and Product Support, you will play a key role within the Applications Engineering team, providing expert technical guidance to both our Production and Supply Chain teams, and external customers.
Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and resolving issues identified by suppliers, production teams, and customers. You will lead efforts to develop and implement effective solutions that minimise disruption to the business and airline operations and offer technical supervision, mentorship and coordination across multiple engineering tasks and projects supporting the future growth of the team. You’ll ensure all deliverables meet required specifications, timelines, budgets, quality standards, including product cost and weight targets.
Additionally, you will act as a primary technical contact for customer support, delivering timely and accurate information, troubleshooting field issues and driving continuous improvement in product performance and reliability.
In your role as our Lead Engineer – Production & Product Support, you will:
Team Leadership & Technical Support
- Acting as a senior technical authority, making decisions on concessions, permits and engineering changes
- Support the Applications Team of engineers, providing technical assistance
- Champion engineering best practices and mentor junior engineers
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of technical issues arising on the shop floor or in the field
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure delivery to required quality and specification standards
- Drive continuous improvement in design for manufacture (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
- Create and approve technical documentation including concessions, permits and service bulletins
- Manage and execute engineering changes, ensuring timely closeout and adherence to KPIs
- Provide technical sign‑off for engineering changes and design releases within the team
Project Planning & Coordination
- Define, plan and monitor engineering support team outputs to meet schedules and specifications
- Coordinate with design, certification, test and stress teams to ensure compliance with structural and airworthiness requirements
Process Improvement & Quality Assurance
- Support the engineering management team in improving processes, systems and tools to enhance efficiency and agility
- Promote modular assembly build and configuration practices to optimise productivity and customisation
- Review and approve peer designs and drawings using the PDM drawing approval process
About you
To support Mirus on our continued journey of growth, you’ll bring proven expertise in Engineering Production & Product Support, a passion for innovation and a strong drive for operational excellence. You’ll be a natural problem solver, able to thrive in a dynamic environment and demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- Proficiency in CAD and PDM systems, with a solid understanding of best‑practice modelling and drawing techniques, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience delivering mechanical products in both design and manufacturing/production environments
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute engineering activities effectively
- A track record of developing and applying best practice methodologies
- Confidence in navigating ambiguity and identifying clear paths to delivery
- SolidWorks and PDM experience
- Experience delivering aircraft interiors product that is compliant with airframe spec and CAA, EASA & FAA regulatory requirements, or experience in a comparable industry

Flexibility to work extended hours when required, willingness to travel to customer locations as required and eligibility to work in the UK.
