Quality Engineer in Bath, Bath and North East Somerset

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to for a civil rail infrastructure project. This role is critical in ensuring all works are delivered in compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining quality assurance across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Plans (QMPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure adherence to procedures
• Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee corrective/preventive actions
• Liaise with project teams, clients, and stakeholders on quality-related matters
• Ensure all works comply with relevant rail and civil engineering standards
• Maintain accurate quality records and documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within civil engineering or rail projects
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification – essential
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance systems and processes
• Experience with ISO 9001 and quality auditing
• Familiarity with rail industry standards and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
