Triple Star Fire and Security Limited is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Due to continued business growth and the trust placed in us by our clients, we are expanding our service and maintenance capability.
This role is suited to a high‑level, experienced engineer who is confident in servicing, maintenance, fault‑finding and compliance verification of fire alarm systems — with a strong working knowledge of BS 5839‑1.
Role Overview
As an Experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and compliance testing of fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites.
You will act as a senior presence on site, representing Triple Star Fire and Security professionally, ensuring systems remain compliant, reliable and fully operational in line with British Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems
- Attend reactive call‑outs, diagnosing faults efficiently and effectively
- Undertake system repairs, component replacements, and remedial works
- Conduct testing and inspection in line with BS 5839‑1
- Complete service reports, certificates, and compliance documentation accurately
- Identify non‑compliances and advise clients on remedial actions
- Liaise professionally with clients, facilities teams, and internal managers
- Ensure all works meet company quality standards and health & safety requirements
- Support junior engineers where required
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems
- Level 3 Qualification in BS 5839‑1 (mandatory)
- Strong working knowledge of UK fire alarm standards and legislation
- Experience with leading manufacturers such as: Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Gent, Notifier, Apollo, Hochiki
- Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic capability
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Strong customer communication and reporting skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
