Production Manager / Head of Production (depending on experience)
Location: London office (4–5 days per week as required)
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager or Head of Production to take full ownership of the production function. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role suited to someone who thrives in a founder‑led environment and can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to a growing business.
As the sole production lead, you will work closely with the founders and collaborate across design and merchandising. As the company scales, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a production team. This role is focused on elevating and developing processes, rather than maintaining the status quo.
With an ambitious growth strategy extending to 2030, the business is investing in building a strong operational infrastructure to support its creative vision.
Key Responsibilities
Production Process & Efficiency
- Audit, refine, and streamline end‑to‑end production workflows, eliminating inefficiencies and establishing scalable best practices.
- Consolidate and organise the supplier base, ensuring effective management of fabrics, trims, and components.
- Implement and maintain systems that provide visibility and control across all production stages.
Sample Development
- Oversee the full sample development lifecycle from initial brief through to final approval.
- Proactively resolve technical and production challenges, coordinating between design, garment technology, and external manufacturers.
- Manage handovers to logistics and visual merchandising, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of samples.
Day‑to‑Day Production Management
- Take ownership of existing and new styles, ensuring smooth transition from development into production.
- Integrate sample development into bulk production while maintaining quality and timelines.
- Build, communicate, and manage delivery schedules, holding suppliers accountable.
- Oversee production pricing, including tracking, challenging, and negotiating costs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Act as the central production partner across design, technical, and commercial teams.
- Work closely with senior leadership, adapting priorities as business needs evolve.
Supply Chain & Logistics
- Optimise the end‑to‑end supply chain, from raw material sourcing through to final delivery.
- Identify and resolve logistics inefficiencies while building strong partner relationships.
- Ensure all production practices align with sustainability commitments.
Scalability & Growth
- Develop processes designed for long‑term scalability.
- Play a key role in building and leading the production function as the business grows.
- Experience in scaling supply chain operations is advantageous.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in production management within the fashion industry, ideally in a founder‑led, start‑up, or scaling environment.
- Strong, hands‑on knowledge of end‑to‑end production, including sample development, bulk manufacturing, supply chain, and quality control.
- Ability to operate autonomously and make informed decisions without extensive infrastructure.
