Location: Hybrid, 3 days in South Yorkshire office

Turner Lovell are recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an £1billion + turnover EPC Contractor in the electricity and renewable energy sector. Following the award of multi-year framework agreements, the company is expanding its team to deliver turnkey HV substation projects across the UK, ranging from £20 million to £150 million.
This is a hybrid role, and we are looking for a candidate who can access the South Yorkshire office at least 3 times a week.
Responsibilities
- Lead all commercial activities across various project sites locations
- Oversee subcontract packages, including valuations and agreement of final accounts
- Produce claims, management reports, and cost forecasts
- Monitor project risks closely and ensure all commercial documentation is robust and accurate
- Identify variations, delays, and cost recovery opportunities early
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and finance teams to maintain programme and budget control
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Requirements
- Experience or understanding of the Electricity Transmission sector (OHL / Substations) is advantageous, though strong major infrastructure experience on multi‑million‑pound projects will also be considered
- Proven experience managing large subcontractor work packages and liaising directly with the Client
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent “graduate‑level” experience
- Solid knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and effective commercial management principles
- Strong communication and negotiation capabilities
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Valid full UK driving licence
