Data & Operations Manager – Specialist Mortgages & Bridging

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Data & Operations Manager to act as the senior data and MI lead for our Specialist Mortgages & Short‑Term Lending (STL) division. This is a highly influential role, owning divisional data, MI, workflow insight and operational reporting. You’ll translate complex operational and customer data into clear, actionable insight that supports decision‑making, capacity planning, risk management and customer outcomes.
A strong understanding of mortgage and/or property lending processes is essential. This role works closely with underwriting, sales, operations and brokers, so you’ll need to understand how mortgage and property lending journeys work end‑to‑end and how data supports performance, service and regulatory outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Data, MI & Insight
- Act as the divisional owner for all operational data, MI and reporting
- Design, build and continuously improve dashboards using Power BI, Tableau and SQL
- Provide senior‑level insight to the MD and leadership team, translating data into clear actions
- Design and maintain operational KPIs covering pipeline, service, capacity, performance and customer outcomes
- Produce ad‑hoc analysis to support new products, regulatory reviews and strategic decisions
Workflow & Systems Ownership
- Own and develop the divisional Verint workflow system, including configuration, reporting and optimisation
- Act as the primary escalation point for data integrity, MI requests and operational insight
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across core lending, workflow and operational systems
Leadership & Collaboration
- Line manage and develop Operations Analysts, setting priorities and quality standards
- Act as the go‑to SME for data, reporting and operational insight within the division
- Partner closely with Technology, Change, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Credit Risk teams
- Embed data and MI requirements into small‑change and transformation initiatives from day one
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies across mortgage and property lending operations
- Lead data‑driven process improvements to enhance broker experience and customer outcomes
- Maintain clear documentation to reduce key‑person dependency

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience in data, MI or analytics roles within financial services or regulated environments
- Strong understanding of mortgage and/or property lending operations and processes
- Advanced Power BI and/or Tableau experience, including executive‑level dashboards
- Strong SQL capability and experience working with complex operational datasets
- Experience owning data processes, data quality controls and reporting frameworks
- Proven ability to translate data into insight for non‑technical stakeholders
- Experience managing or mentoring analysts
- Exposure to FCA‑regulated environments and operational risk frameworks
- Experience supporting operational change or digital transformation initiatives
