An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Planner to join a highly respected and design-led planning consultancy based in Central London. This role offers the chance to work on a range of high-quality and often complex development projects, within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

This position would suit an experienced Senior Planner ready to step up, or an existing Associate looking to take on greater responsibility within a well-established consultancy.

The Role

As an Associate Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with clients, design teams, and stakeholders.

Projects are typically high-profile and design-focused, spanning sectors such as:

  • Residential and mixed-use developments
  • Commercial and office projects
  • Heritage and design-led developments

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading planning applications from initial instruction through to determination
  • Providing strategic and commercially focused planning advice
  • Preparing high-quality planning statements, reports and submissions
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
  • Supporting business development and contributing to new opportunities
  • Collaborating with architects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Mentoring and supporting junior planners

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MRTPI Chartered status (essential)
  • Strong experience within a private planning consultancy environment
  • A solid track record of managing planning applications and projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-facing ability
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach

This role is particularly well suited to someone at Senior Planner level looking to step up into an Associate position.
