Quality Inspector

Due to increased production, we are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team to play a crucial part in ensuring components and assemblies meet exacting quality standards. Using your previous experience within a precision machining environment, you’ll be responsible for detailed inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Perform First offs, In-Process, Goods Inwards and Final Inspections
• Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to customer requirements
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance systems and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Generate accurate inspection reports and document results as required
• Ensure all traceability documentation is recorded prior to product release or acceptance
• Ensure correct practise and legalities with respect to product quality and customer requirements
• Identify and report non-conformances, raising appropriate paperwork and following up as required
• Support root cause analysis and contribute to corrective and preventive actions
• Assist with third-party audits, providing inspection records and quality data as needed
• Issue sub-contract purchase orders where parts require additional processing
• Perform calibration of measuring equipment and control the calibration log
• Maintain a safe and organized working environment

Skills and Experience

• Experience of working in a precision machining environment
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience in mechanical measurement using standard measurement tools, micrometers, vernier callipers, etc.
• Good understanding of GD&T principles
• Working knowledge of ISO9001
• Proven experience as a CMM Inspector would be beneficial but not essential
• Experience of creating inspection documentation and FAIR Reports would be beneficial
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A flexible and adaptable team player with a ‘can do’ attitude

You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen or resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance.
