Mechanical Fitter Bognor Regis, West Sussex | Permanent39-hour week (Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-12:30pm) | £19.50/hour I’m recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK machine builder specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke automation and special purpose machinery supplied to customers worldwide. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Mechanical Fitter to their engineering team.
This is a hands-on, workshop-based position focused on the mechanical build of custom-built machinery , from sub-assembly through to final build and test. Mechanical assembly of special purpose machinery from engineering drawings Building frames, guards, rollers, shafts, bearings and mechanical assemblies Basic pneumatic fitting (cylinders, valves, pipework – training available) Supporting machine build, testing and fault-finding in-house Occasional assistance with installations (UK / overseas – infrequent) Proven experience in a manufacturing environment as a Mechanical Fitter or a similar role Confident reading and interpreting mechanical drawings Apprenticeship or formal mechanical training advantageous Permanent role with a stable, engineering-led business~39-hour working week (day shift)~ Varied work – no repetitive production-line fitting~ Overtime available~ Long-term opportunity with scope for development
