Interim Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – UK Digital Bank

We are partnering with a high-growth UK digital bank entering a pivotal phase of transformation and product expansion. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role at the intersection of modern transaction banking, payments, and digital assets.

The business is investing heavily in next-generation technology, building innovative products that sit across both traditional banking infrastructure and emerging digital asset capabilities. You will play a central role in shaping and delivering this vision.

The Role:

As Interim CTO, you will lead both technology and product, working directly with the executive team to drive transformation at pace. This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to someone who thrives in lean, entrepreneurial environments and can balance strategy with execution.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading end-to-end technology and product delivery
• Driving platform and infrastructure evolution across payments and transaction banking
• Supporting the build-out of digital asset capabilities
• Scaling and mentoring a high-performing, agile team
• Embedding best-in-class engineering and delivery practices

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven CTO or number one technology leadership experience in a bank
• Strong background in payments, transaction banking, or commercial digital banking platforms
• Exposure to digital assets or institutional crypto environments is highly advantageous
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate at pace
• Track record of delivering in transformation or scale-up environments
• Immediately available (or very short notice)

Location:

UK-based, primarily remote, with occasional travel to London
