Technical Finance Business Partner (Interim)

Location: Derby (Hybrid – up to 3 days on-site)

Duration: Up to 12 months

Rate: Up to £651/day (Umbrella) or £473.63/day (PAYE)

We are supporting a leading UK-based engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Technical Finance Business Partner to join their Civil Aerospace division on an interim basis.

This is a high-impact role within a central Technical Finance team, focused on complex accounting issues, financial governance, and audit management. You'll work closely with senior finance stakeholders and external auditors, playing a key role in ensuring robust financial control and compliance across a large, global business unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters in line with IFRS and internal finance policies
  • Partner with operational and finance teams to support key accounting judgements and business decisions
  • Lead and manage the external audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors
  • Prepare high-quality audit papers and present key issues to senior leadership and audit committees
  • Drive financial risk management by challenging accounting treatments and ensuring reporting accuracy
  • Lead quarterly balance sheet reviews and enforce corporate governance frameworks
  • Provide financial assurance across investments, bids, and procurement activities
  • Contribute to the Financial Control Leadership Team, driving alignment and best practice across teams

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong technical accounting expertise with solid IFRS knowledge
  • Background in external audit (preferred)
  • Experience working in large, complex organisations
  • Strong understanding of FX and statutory accounting treatments
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity and solve complex financial issues
  • Able to distil complex topics into clear, concise insights
