Role Purpose
To operate within the End-to-End solutions team. To own and manage an engineering process flowline set of deliverables (non-conformance, repair deviations, manual changes, changes in design, etc.) for Aero Engine Components to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The role offers opportunities for developing skills, knowledge and experience in a blend of engineering and operations management in this exciting industry.
A Flow Line Lead (FLL) is required to work closely with Quest Global & Quest Defense engineers and the Customer and all elements of their Producibility business including technical points of contact(s). The FLL is expected to own, manage and drive the Flowline and supporting & steering internal and external stakeholders to deliver against agreed KPIs. This role also includes relationship building with specialist areas to understand bottlenecks, identify and deliver process improvements, drive Lean behaviors to enable on-time delivery and increased value.
Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Vision, Focus and Direction
- Own and drive the flowline to Lean principles and define the vision for improved customer value. Ensuring KPIs of asset Quality and Delivery are adhered to.
- Management of ‘capacity bottleneck’ areas using pro‑active planning and solutions to resolve actual and potential delivery concerns through short interval control.
- Work with specialist functions and external stakeholders to develop SLA turn‑around‑times for engineering process artefact review and approval to deliver standard end‑to‑end process lead times.
- Develop working relationships with specialist functions and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to embed a ‘pull system’ to improve output and customer value.
- Manage team of coordinators ensuring day‑to‑day delivery and team performance.
- Management of build critical priorities within the team without affecting flow - operate and demonstrate FIFO working arrangement.
- Own Flowline visual management performance measured by agreed KPI and reviewed with the customer on a regular basis.
- Coach and Problem Solver
- Coach and develop Quest Global, Quest Defense, and customer teams on Lean principles and behaviors and support them on problem solving to support the delivery of the flowline.
- Relationship building skills
- Build relationships with specialist areas within and outside of the corresponding customer department to ensure the Flowline seamlessly delivers. Ensure flowline lessons learned and best practices are shared with the Principal Flowline Lead (Engineering Process Program Manager) and rolled out to other flowline departments.
- Strive for Improvement
- Identify improvement opportunities within the end‑to‑end process. Develop and own a visual management system, i.e. SQDCP (safety, quality, cost, delivery, people) board, which will drive continuous improvement.
- Customer Focus and Value
- Focus and value are to be measured through KPIs and reviewed on a regular basis. Deliver regular waste reduction initiatives such as over processing or repetition as well as cost reduction for each engineering process artefact through waste elimination.

Work Experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent.
- Experience with the engineering process they will have ownership over (non-conformance, repair deviations, manual changes, changes in design, etc.)
- Experience leading projects directly in the aero‑engine industry (through direct OEM experience) or the engineering services industry.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- An excellent technical understanding of gas turbine functionality and operability of major components.
- Experience leading & managing engineering teams (people management).
- Experience working with global engineering teams, understanding cultural differences and relationship building with colleagues in other countries.
