Payment Services Analyst – Paddington, London
Location: Paddington, London | Office‑first (4+ days a week)
As a Payment Services Analyst at Dojo, you will be at the heart of our acquiring operations, ensuring seamless payment acceptance for our merchants. Your role is highly collaborative, technical, and merchant‑facing within a fast‑paced fintech environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and take ownership of assigned application‑related activities in the day‑to‑day operations of the payment production applications.
- Log and investigate issues via system and database logs to clarify production problems.
- Document production applications and processes, maintaining a repository of related questions and answers.
- Identify proactive remedial strategies to prevent future software problems and improve software quality.
- Monitor daily transaction flows, identify anomalies, and investigate failed or delayed payments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to payments, terminals, and merchant systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to implement improvements and optimize payment reliability.
- Respond to incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution to minimize merchant disruption.
- Assist with merchant onboarding, terminal configuration, and ongoing technical guidance.
Qualifications
- 4+ years in a technical production support role with financial institutions or in the fintech environment.
- Knowledge of acquiring, card schemes (Visa, Mastercard), and transaction flows.
- Hands‑on experience with POS terminals, payment gateways, and merchant systems.
- Excellent technical problem‑solving skills, with the ability to develop a working understanding of a technical system using a variety of methods.
- 3+ years working with databases (SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, BigQuery, or similar).
- Experience reading application and server logs, and knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., JSON, Java, JavaScript).
- Structured, organized, and able to handle competing pressures of immediate payment queries alongside day‑to‑day tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
